Secure Access Mode & Ruleset Management Sub-Menu

After providing correct password credentials for Secure Access Mode, the remote modem caller is shown the Secure Access Mode header screen. For AFN units with PBXaminer Feature Package, firmware version 3.00 and higher, this appears on the remote callers terminal screen as follows:

At this point, the remote caller is communicating directly to whatever equipment is connected to the AFN host port, and may conduct a tele-service or query session, and then terminate Secure Access Mode. Or, if the remote caller wishes to engage the ruleset management features, their communications software should be set to half-duplex, emulation mode of either ANSI, VT-100, or VT-220. Next, the remote user enters the hot-key combination to bring up the ruleset management sub-menu, which looks like this:

The ruleset management features, and Secure Access Mode itself, are intended for use by prepared professionals. Timeouts are in force, and if the remote caller either makes no entry, or does not complete an entry within a period of time, AFN will terminate Secure Access Mode, and return to its primary operational tasks. Without timeouts, the modems would hold the connection forever, and the remote caller would prevent AFN from functioning. If a timeout terminates your Secure Access Mode session, simply start a new one, and continue. Most menu timeouts are 60 seconds, and 120 seconds are allowed when entering a complete new ruleset -- though using copy/paste, and pasting in a known-accurate ruleset is, of course, what a professional would do. Secure Access Mode itself is subject to an overall master inactivity timeout of 3 minutes.
